In the human body every cell is connected to every other cell through the proteins inserted into the cell membranes. Because of this tensegrity matrix, stress suffered in one area of our lives will influence all others.

Thus, the emotional upheaval of a divorce or job loss (emotional) can affect our sleep, appetite, mood and digestion (physical). A sprained ankle can translate into neck pain and irritability. Luckily, the reverse is true as well, and healing can spread from the physical to the emotional and vica versa.

Pienta & Coffey (1991) had postulated "Frequency windows of specificity" for healing, which states that when exposed to specific frequencies, predictable healing occurs; for example:

Nerve regeneration at 2 Hz
Bone growth at 7 Hz
Ligament healing at 10 Hz
